Solar Flare 2024 Effects. Early on saturday 23 march 2024, the sun released a strong x1.1 solar flare, the most powerful possible type, from a particularly active region pointing directly towards earth. The greatest observed 3 hr kp over the past 24 hours was 3 (below noaa scale levels).

Nasa’s solar dynamics observatory captured these two views of massive solar flares, registering x5.8 and x1.5, respectively, on may 11, 2024. We explore this flip in polarity in more detail and look at the effects it could have on earth.
